Rub remaining spice mixture on ribs; coat well.Place ribs in a single layer on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet (17 x 11-inch) or roasting pan. Pour water into pan; cover with foil. If using Italian sausage, fry it for until well done.Place all of the other ingredients in a crockpot and set to HIGH. The tomato paste will need a lot of stirring for the first 10 minutes or so.
